As populations age worldwide, women—who make up the majority of the older population—face distinct challenges and opportunities. This Solutions Session explores how gender- and age-responsive policies can advance inclusive social development through two interlinked dimensions:

  1. Social Integration & Inclusion – advancing participation, dignity, and rights through gender-responsive ageing policies.
  2. Poverty Eradication & Decent Work – promoting fair, inclusive, and gender-responsive economies that ensure income security and value care across the life course.

This Solutions Session co-hosted by UN Women and UNFPA as part of the Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD2), will spotlight cross-regional innovations and multi-stakeholder partnerships that empower older women and promote equality across generations.
