Achieving gender parity requires a multi-faceted approach that analyzes the challenges and opportunities specific to each entity. While targets are important, gender parity is not just about numbers. UN Women has created the following resources to help you develop your implementation plan and make parity a reality. The Secretary-General’s System-wide Strategy on Gender Parity recommends all UN system entities to align or develop specific gender strategies and implementation plans, which include specific targets, measures, and resources, to reach the goals and reflect the recommendations of the Strategy. This template sets out a simple framework for addressing the different facets of the System-wide Strategy. This tool is meant to serve as a starting point for designing and implementing a plan to achieve gender parity by 2028.
Good practices
2022
Empowered by the UN-SWAP 2.0, UN Women is able to identify and coordinate the system-wide adoption of good practices and harmonized products that can be scaled from one entity to another. UN Women selects and publishes a series of good practices from various entities on annual basis, normally through the UN-SWAP review reports and the updated technical guidance. This catalog aggregates various best practices under UN-SWAP 2.0 indicators, updated in 2022.
